Rich in history and brimming with potential, this property offers many opportunities, including subdivision possibilities or simply enjoying the private sanctuary as it stands. In the same family for over 50 years, this historic gem captures your heart the moment you arrive. Originally built in 1934 for Mrs.Tryon, the home is perfectly situated on the lot for views and sunshine! The view along with the rock garden and perennial borders, set the stage for the main house. This 1930s period home, designed by renowned architect Hubert Savage features distinctive cedar curved eaves reminiscent of thatched roofs and is perched on a promontory overlooking the bay with south-facing views. From the dock, your waterfront adventures to Tsehum Harbour and the Gulf Islands await. The house is beautifully integrated into the lush landscape, offering a skylit breakfast room, a charming 1930s kitchen, and a living room with sweeping views of the bay. A spacious music room, perfect for social gatherings, opens to a balcony for enjoying evening sun. The secluded owners primary area includes a deco-style study with custom joinery, a private bathroom, and a cozy built-in day bed, all adjoining the main bedroom with views of the rose garden, personal bathroom, and a private library space. Upstairs, you'll find three sunny, country-style bedrooms and a bathroom centred around a shared living area. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a delightful period home, ready for you to expand your life and pursue your passions. Outbuildings, currently set up as pottery and weaving studios, could easily be converted back to hobby farm use or reimagined to suit your needs. The cottage, a quaint clapperboard house, is perfect for guests, relatives, or caretakers. Nestled among heritage apple, plum, and quince trees, this property invites you to create your own legacy in a truly magical setting.

About

My number one goal is to provide you with the best experience possible when it comes to buying and selling Real Estate on Southern Vancouver Island.  I am a full-time, full-service REALTOR® and my business is based on relationships which I value like family. I recognize the value of repeat business and client referrals and work hard to provide you with a level of service that you would be proud to recommend.  After all, referral of your friends and family is the greatest compliment that I can receive.

Originally from the Eastern Townships in Quebec, I lived in Boston in the mid 1990's working in technology consulting and moved to Victoria in 2001 to start a family in my wife's hometown (she is a third generation Victorian, born & raised in Oak Bay).  I truly enjoy the fantastic lifestyle Victoria has to offer.

Real Estate Background

I have been a licensed REALTOR® since 2006.  While studying for my Real Estate License I worked for a local general contractor for eight months to get hands on experience with building and renovating residential and commercial properties. In 2007 I started selling luxury condominium and townhouse projects. Over the three years I was on the projects I met over 5000 people looking for Real Estate from all over the country and the world.

Joining DFH in 2010 was a natural fit and I am proud to be part of an organization that has such a first-class reputation in providing exceptional Real Estate services to Victoria for over 50 years.  DFH is a proud member of Leading Real Estate Companies of the World, a very prestigious honour reserved for top Real Estate Firms. In fact, when your home is listed and posted to the DFH Website, it is also immediately connected to the Websites of over 500 of our affiliated real estate firms in the world. Local expertise, global connections, powerful marketing!

As a Business Graduate (Acadia University, 1994), I understand the value of continuing education so that I can in turn provide my clients with the most relevant, timely advice in the marketplace.  I invest in attending leading Real Estate conferences each year as well as Victoria Real Estate Board sponsored courses. My wife Jenny works with me as my unlicensed Real Estate Assistant.  PRA® certified (Professional Real Estate Assistant) with an International Business Degree from the University of Victoria (1996), she brings to the table a strong Marketing background and exceptional administrative skills

My Family Life

I am a family man and have three very active boys ages nine, twelve and fourteen who love hockey, golf, lacrosse and tennis.  My wife and I enjoy supporting them in their activities and school and we both take pride in volunteering for leadership roles within these associations.  I am a member of the Christ Church Cathedral School Board and Christ Church Cathedral Buildings Association, avid member-golfer at Royal Colwood (All my sons are junior members) and my boys enjoy membership at the Oak Bay Tennis Club.  A past Scouts Canada Leader (three years) and past manager of our Victoria-Esquimalt lacrosse team (one year), I look forward to many more years of volunteering for a community I am proud to call home!
